Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort

This hotel is famous since this is where the Venice Film Festival is hosted. The hotel and the spit known as Venice Lido was a great place to stay as a family because it was roomier and had a pool and sea access, which you can't get easily in the main part of Venice. There is a free water taxi to Venice at a regular frequency. The pool was wonderful and made for a great stop after walking around humid Venice all day. There are some terrific restaurants out there so you don't need to get on the water taxi for every meal. They helped us find a really good babysitter. The rooms were a little tired and could use an upgrade. We didn't have a lot of privacy as a family. There was a huge mosquito problem in our room, but we were able to get some sort of plug in from the front desk that helped a little bit. Verdict: Would Return
